RESULTS AND GRADING POLICY · plain-language policy

What the record actually means.

The public Ledger is an internal historical model benchmark. It is not a customer earnings statement and is not the same population as the recommendation Board.

Last updated 14 August 2026

Important status. NightlyPicks’ current historical records are generated and settled by our own systems. They have not yet been proofed by a demonstrably independent body. We therefore do not use positive units or ROI as a paid-access promise or guarantee.

1. Two populations—not one sales number

The Board contains the complete recommendations that meet the serving rules for that slate, including a positive model stake. The CORE benchmark grades every eligible priced signal from the formula serving CORE today at its stated price floor. It is broader and can include rows that were not Board recommendations.

The benchmark can also change when the formula or serving floor changes. It should never be described as an immutable history of exactly what a subscriber saw each night.

2. Flat-1u calculation

  • Each eligible priced benchmark row risks a normalized 1 unit.
  • A loss is −1u.
  • A win earns the net profit implied by the recorded price; it is not automatically +1u.
  • A push or void is 0u.
  • Unpriced rows and prices below the stated serving floor are excluded.
  • ROI is net units divided by total units risked across the priced benchmark population.

Personal staking, limits, taxes, price changes and sportsbook rules are not represented by this normalized benchmark.

3. Settlement and corrections

Rows are joined to the recorded game and player outcome using stable game, player and prop identities. Wins, losses, pushes and voids stay visible. Where a source correction changes an official statistic or identity match, the record may be corrected rather than knowingly preserving an erroneous settlement.

4. Prices and availability

A recorded price is a model input or captured market observation—not proof that every user could obtain it. Prices move, books limit users, markets can suspend, and observation timestamps can be missing. A current decision should be made only after checking the exact book, line, price, market phase and player availability.

5. What we will and will not claim

We will state the league, formula, price floor, date range, sample and grading basis near historical numbers. We will not delete losses, imply that an unusually positive window is typical, guarantee future profit, present gambling as an investment, or translate model units into promised customer income.

Before promoting historical wins or returns as advertising, we intend to lodge recommendations with a suitable independent body before the relevant events and retain evidence that advertised prices remained reasonably available.

6. How to read the product

Start with the current schedule and exact recommendation status. Use recent games, opponent history, comparable players and market movement as context—not extra model votes. Then check the stated invalidator and current price. The safest response to missing or stale evidence is no action.
